Job Description

DataAnnotation is seeking an Analytics Engineer - AI Trainer to join a fully remote team. The role centers on evaluating AI-generated quantitative work and designing training problems that benchmark and improve AI systems, with a flexible schedule and a Pittsburgh, PA base. This position blends hands-on analysis with the practical aim of guiding next-generation AI models in quantitative reasoning.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate AI-generated quantitative outputs for technical accuracy and real-world validity, including statistical analysis, predictive modeling, scientific reasoning, and data-driven insights.
  • Design and solve quantitative tasks used to train and benchmark AI systems, spanning forecasting, experimental analysis, optimization, and statistical inference.
  • Write clear technical explanations and maintain well-documented analytical code.
  • Provide actionable feedback that informs the development of future AI models focused on quantitative reasoning.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of hands-on work in a quantitative role or research environment such as data science, statistics, economics, finance, physics, biology, epidemiology, operations research, or related fields.
  • Some coding experience with comfort writing and reviewing analytical code end-to-end.
  • Practical experience with statistical methods, predictive modeling, and experiment design (including A/B testing, hypothesis testing, regression, classification, and time-series forecasting).
  • Fluency in English with strong writing skills (native or bilingual level).
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field is preferred (Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or similar); a master's or PhD is a plus.
  • Relevant credentials are a plus (for example Kaggle competition ranking, AWS/GCP ML certifications, or equivalent demonstrated expertise).
