Job Description
Overview
As an independent engineering contributor, you will lead electrical design efforts for selected vehicle programs and collaborate across disciplines to deliver robust, manufacturable solutions that align with program goals and reliability targets.
Compensation
Salary: USD 80,000 - 100,000 per year.
Location & Work Arrangement
Location: Waukesha, WI (onsite).
Work arrangement: On-site only; remote or hybrid arrangements are not offered.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
- Experience: 3–5 years of experience in vehicle electrical systems or industrial/mobile platforms.
Responsibilities
- Own the electrical design work for designated vehicle programs.
- Produce comprehensive electrical schematics and wiring documentation with minimal supervision.
- Integrate advanced inspection technologies into truck platforms, ensuring compatibility and performance.
- Select and validate electrical components including breakers, inverters, batteries, and harnesses.
- Collaborate with mechanical and production teams to ensure manufacturability and build consistency.
- Execute full system testing and troubleshoot issues during assembly and commissioning.
- Provide technical support to service teams for post-delivery issues.
- Manage documentation and revision control across multiple projects.
- Lead small-scale continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability and manufacturability.
- Mentor Level 1 engineers on tools, processes, and standards.
- Develop and manage ERP data for parts and assemblies.
Requirements
- Extensive SOLIDWORKS and PDM proficiency for electrical design.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for electrical and system-level issues.
- Ability to evaluate multiple design approaches using engineering judgment.
- Conduct thorough peer reviews for accuracy and completeness.
- Ability to develop complex CAD data in AutoCAD for electrical assemblies.
- Advanced knowledge of Epicor ERP.
- Wiring harness documentation including validation processes.
- Experience designing and documenting test fixtures for component qualification.
- Proficient understanding of the engineering change control process to lead component updates.
- 3–5 years of experience in vehicle electrical systems or industrial/mobile platforms.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical or SolidWorks Electrical.
- Strong understanding of low-voltage DC systems and power distribution.

Position Objective
