  • Compensation: USD 91,463 - 156,794 per year, with a target incentive of 10% of base salary. Actual wages may vary based on budget, candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and geographic location.

Responsibilities

  • Install, test, commission, and start up low- and medium-voltage distribution equipment (approximately 480 V to 15 kV), including switchgear and breakers.
  • Perform hands-on commissioning and troubleshooting of protection and control relays from multiple vendors, such as SEL, GE Multilin, and Siemens SIPROTEC.
  • Use relay testing equipment and software tools (e.g., Omicron, Doble, DIGSI, Protection Suite) for commissioning and fault isolation.
  • Support protection and control systems from several manufacturers, including Siemens SIPROTEC, SEL, and GE Multilin.
  • Develop switching procedures, methods of procedure (MOPs), and provide guidance on electrical safety practices.
  • Support greenfield and brownfield installations, warranty responses, maintenance activities, and retrofit projects across the United States.
  • Document work performed, test results, and system conditions through clear technical reporting.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 8+ years of experience in low- and medium-voltage power distribution systems, including switchgear.
  • 8+ years of experience in protection and control relay commissioning and troubleshooting.
  • 8+ years of experience with relay testing equipment and software (e.g., Omicron test sets, Doble 6150, DIGSI, Protection Suite).
  • 8+ years of experience in electrical control circuit troubleshooting and equipment condition assessment.
  • 8+ years of field-based commissioning and testing in industrial, utility, or power distribution environments.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 50-60% nationally.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.
