Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor boilers, feedwater systems, fuel supply, and related auxiliary equipment.
- Maintain designated pressure and temperature levels in line with operating specifications.
- Perform routine inspections to ensure safe operation of all equipment.
- Provide training for mechanics and certify personnel to act as boiler operators.
- Carry out routine maintenance, repairs, and overhauls of boilers and associated systems.
- Troubleshoot faults and diagnose equipment malfunctions, implementing corrective actions.
- Document maintenance activities and report them in accordance with company policies.
- Comply with safety protocols and regulatory requirements governing boiler operations.
- Participate in safety drills and emergency response activities.
- Ensure adherence to environmental regulations, including emissions controls and waste management practices.
- Maintain accurate logs of boiler operations, maintenance, and safety inspections.
- Report abnormalities or incidents to the Chief Engineer or the appropriate supervisor.
- Support the preparation of technical reports and documentation for regulatory inspections.
- Collaborate with engineering staff to maintain efficient and safe operations.
- Assist with the training and development of junior engineers.
- Pursue ongoing professional development and stay informed on industry best practices.
Requirements
- Shift work may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
- On‑call availability for emergencies or critical situations.
- Minimum 1 to 2 years of boiler operations and maintenance experience.
- Experience handling high‑pressure emergency situations.
- Valid Third Engineer Boiler Operator certification in accordance with local or international standards.
