Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot control systems in AWS data centers and perform root cause analysis or corrective actions.
  • Apply building management and power monitoring fundamentals to manage the scope of BMS and EPMS in operations.
  • Train and assist internal customers on design, configuration, validation, installation, commissioning, and operation of BMS and EPMS.
  • Provide technical support to operations throughout the data center life cycle.
  • Review quarterly BMS and EPMS maintenance results and drive closure on action items.
  • Develop scope of work, schedule, budget, and level of effort for BMS and EPMS projects requested by customers.
  • Manage scope, schedule, cost, and execution of BMS and EPMS improvement projects in AWS data centers.
  • Assist with procurement activities including RFIs/RFPs, vendor responses, proposal review, and purchase orders.
  • Participate in the AWS global on-call schedule to provide immediate BMS and EPMS technical support to operational data centers.
  • Attend project meetings, coordinate with project leaders, and provide regular status updates to controls and stakeholders.
  • Support commissioning activities for controls projects in data centers.
  • Review and iterate on the controls sequence of operation and provide feedback to the design team.
  • Develop and modify control logic programming and graphical user interfaces.
  • Manage multiple stakeholder deliverables and navigate challenging situations.
  • Financially manage BMS and EPMS service contracts.
  • Conduct frequent local visits to in-operation data centers to troubleshoot, meet customers, and supervise vendor work to ensure alignment with scope, design, SOO, and local codes.

Requirements

  • Experience bringing new design concepts through exploration, development, and deployment or mass production.
  • Proficiency with MS Excel, Word, and Windows operating systems.
  • Experience with power management and power monitoring systems.
  • 5+ years of construction management for large, complex projects involving mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) plants.
  • 4+ years of general contractor and vendor management experience (RFIs/RFQ responses, bidding, change orders, quality control, submittal tracking) in construction and project execution.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent engineering science, plus 5+ years of relevant controls experience, OR 10+ years of relevant controls experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 5+ years of experience with industrial controls in critical environments (data centers, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, oil and gas, petrochemical, laboratories, power, water, etc.).
