Power Distribution Design Engineer

Power Distribution Design Engineer at HKA Enterprises applies technical expertise to power distribution challenges, manages work orders, and collects field data for entry into design systems under supervision. This onsite role is based in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Location and Compensation

Location: Raleigh, NC (onsite)

Compensation: USD 22 - 28 per hour

Responsibilities

• Develops and applies growing technical expertise to address power distribution challenges, providing supervised oversight of related work and coordinating with the team.
• Writes and manages multiple work orders concurrently, ensuring accurate tracking and timely execution.
• Spends approximately one day per week in the field collecting data.
• Allocates the remaining time to entering data into design systems and managing assigned tasks.
• Identifies, analyzes, and resolves power distribution problems using established technical methods.
• Plans, organizes, estimates, schedules, and monitors work activities to support business goals and objectives.
• Performs engineering and related studies as required.
• Fosters positive working relationships to coordinate activities effectively.
• Communicates clearly in both oral and written forms.
• Maintains accurate records and files for project documentation.
• Supports the company’s goals and represents the organization professionally.

Requirements

• Technical Associate degree, or 2+ years of relevant power distribution experience.
• Proficiency with computer applications, especially MS Office and AutoCAD.
• Experience in the utility industry.
• Understanding of project management principles.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team; customer-oriented.
• Able to manage multiple tasks and provide leadership to other team members.
• Bachelor's degree (Preferred)

• Power Distribution: 1 year (Preferred)
• BOUD: 1 year (Required)
• Poleforeman: 1 year (Required)
