Power Distribution Design Engineer
Job Description
Compensation: USD 20 - 30 per hour for an onsite role in Tampa, FL. This position supports the growth of practical power distribution expertise while performing data collection, design-system input, and workload oversight under supervision.
Responsibilities
- Apply growing technical knowledge to address straightforward power distribution challenges.
- Oversee related work in power distribution under close supervision.
- Develop skills within the field and operate with a degree of independence.
- Prepare and manage multiple work orders, coordinating their progress.
- Spend about one day per week in the field gathering data.
- Utilize the remainder of the time to enter data into design systems and supervise assigned tasks.
- Apply technical know-how to identify, analyze, and resolve power distribution issues.
- Plan, organize, estimate, schedule, and monitor activities to contribute to business goals.
- Maintain foundational knowledge for accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations, and sketches.
- Conduct engineering and related studies as part of project work.
- Pursue continual improvements in job-related technical and professional capabilities.
- Build positive, collaborative relationships to coordinate work activities.
- Demonstrate clear oral and written communication.
- Keep accurate records and files to ensure traceability.
- Support the company’s goals and represent the organization in a professional manner.
Requirements
- Technical Associates degree, or 2+ years of relevant power distribution experience.
- Proficient with computer applications, especially MS Office and AutoCAD.
- Experience in the utility industry.
- Understanding of project management principles.
- Self-motivated, able to work independently, team-oriented, and customer-focused.
- Able to manage multiple tasks and provide leadership to other team members.
