Power Distribution Design Engineer

Compensation: USD 20 - 30 per hour for an onsite role in Tampa, FL. This position supports the growth of practical power distribution expertise while performing data collection, design-system input, and workload oversight under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Apply growing technical knowledge to address straightforward power distribution challenges.
• Oversee related work in power distribution under close supervision.
• Develop skills within the field and operate with a degree of independence.
• Prepare and manage multiple work orders, coordinating their progress.
• Spend about one day per week in the field gathering data.
• Utilize the remainder of the time to enter data into design systems and supervise assigned tasks.
• Apply technical know-how to identify, analyze, and resolve power distribution issues.
• Plan, organize, estimate, schedule, and monitor activities to contribute to business goals.
• Maintain foundational knowledge for accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations, and sketches.
• Conduct engineering and related studies as part of project work.
• Pursue continual improvements in job-related technical and professional capabilities.
• Build positive, collaborative relationships to coordinate work activities.
• Demonstrate clear oral and written communication.
• Keep accurate records and files to ensure traceability.
• Support the company’s goals and represent the organization in a professional manner.

Requirements

• Technical Associates degree, or 2+ years of relevant power distribution experience.
• Proficient with computer applications, especially MS Office and AutoCAD.
• Experience in the utility industry.
• Understanding of project management principles.
• Self-motivated, able to work independently, team-oriented, and customer-focused.
• Able to manage multiple tasks and provide leadership to other team members.
