Responsibilities

• Develop software using Java
• Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
• Work independently or as part of a small group
• Adapt to a highly dynamic, changing environment
• Provide in depth analysis and technical support for a large distributed Java based system
• Resolve complex problems across design, development, testing, integration and user support for a large codebase
• Follow specifications to implement or modify functionality
• Assist with design, benchmarking, testing, debugging, and documentation
• Collaborate with other system support groups to resolve issues, set standards, and improve system efficiency
• Design, code, test, and deploy automation tools
• Operate under general direction with results reviewed for objective completion
• Maintain frequent contact with internal and external customers and present solutions to challenging technical issues on projects

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related field from an accredited university, plus 5 years of experience; or a Master’s degree in a related field with 3 years of relevant work experience; or 9 years of relevant work experience may be considered as an alternative to a degree
• A current, active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, with the ability to be cleared to TS/SCI
• Experience with Java
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team environment
• Knowledge of software practices and coding standards
• Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to review performance issues, identify root causes, and develop solutions
