Senior Analytics Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead major analytics platform initiatives from scoping through delivery, collaborating with the Director to shape where the roadmap goes next and align with business priorities.
• Bring new data sources from raw ingest into production gold-tier dbt models that the organization can rely on, focusing on speed and quality.
• Author and maintain the prose semantic layer with Markdown documentation detailing what each model means, how metrics are defined, the historical decisions that shaped the data, and where potential landmines lie.
• Develop and refine the LLM powered query layer on top, including prompts, retrieval, evaluations, and a feedback loop to improve results when they are incorrect.
• Stand up agents to monitor certified dashboards for anomalies and trend shifts, iterating settings until executives trust the alerts enough to take action.

Requirements

• At least 4 years in analytics engineering, data engineering, or a hybrid data role, including ownership of a significant data platform or end-to-end migration.
• Deep fluency in dbt and SQL, with well-formed opinions about data grain, testing, documentation, and the tradeoffs among them.
• Comfort working in Redshift or a comparable data warehouse at scale.
• Built practical solutions with LLMs against your own data and can articulate what has worked; hands-on retrieval or evaluations experience is a plus.
• Strong technical writing ability, capable of explaining a metric in a paragraph that a senior executive can read and understand.
• Proven track record of owning technical decisions in your domain and bringing stakeholders along across the organization, including the ability to push back when the data does not support requests and still secure alignment.
