Job Description

Sr. Associate, Tech Support Engineer role in Nashville, TN onsite, supporting cross-functional teams to sustain Software Integration Lab configurations for mission-system solutions with national security impact.

Responsibilities

  • Liaises with external IT consultants and contractors to troubleshoot complex processes and projects
  • Handles tiered support requests and logs trouble tickets in the tracking system
  • Provides remote assistance to off-site customers
  • Attends program team meetings to understand SIL requirements
  • Develops SIL solutions aligned with software requirements
  • Builds wiring needed to install hardware components
  • Reviews event logs on servers and firewalls and monitors alerts
  • Performs advanced PC hardware and software setup, support, and repair
  • Installs desktop operating systems and applies patches
  • Provides advanced LAN troubleshooting and infrastructure support, including wiring, soldering, and connectivity
  • Assesses customer organizational needs and contributes to resolving a broad range of computer issues
  • Works as a multidisciplinary member of the production team
  • Designs, implements, maintains, and enhances electrical instruments, equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial and industrial use
  • Maintains a professional and collaborative attitude in all duties

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 2 years' related experience
  • Graduate degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years' related experience
  • In lieu of a degree, at least 6 years of related experience
  • At least 2 years of experience with schematic diagrams, mechanical assembly drawings, electrical and electronic test equipment, AC and DC theory, electronics, and general build processes including soldering, wiring, PCB handling, and mechanical assembly
  • At least 2 years of experience in safely operating basic electrical test equipment, electronics tools, and hand tools
  • At least 2 years of networking experience, including LANs, routers, and switches
  • Technically focused post-secondary education credential
  • Experience in a VMware environment (ESXi and vCenter)
  • Experience building and preparing bare-metal systems/servers
  • Experience administering LANs and primary OSs including Windows 7, Windows 10, and RHEL Linux
  • Experience with Help Desk software such as Dell KACE
  • Installation and maintenance experience with a variety of third-party software
