Senior Enterprise Engineer
Job Description
CoreCivic invites you to join as a Senior Enterprise Engineer onsite in Brentwood, TN. This role focuses on sustaining essential IT systems, acting as a technical SME on enterprise initiatives, delivering Tier 3 support for critical platforms, and leading small projects. The position is four days per week onsite in Brentwood, with potential domestic travel as needed.
Responsibilities
- Assess market trends within the CoreCivic environment and recommend technology strategies that align with business goals.
- Develop and maintain technology roadmaps for infrastructure hardware, software, and cloud-based technologies to enhance the customer experience and drive efficiency and innovation.
- Review technical designs to ensure consistency with architecture principles, standards, and best practices.
- Ensure the availability, stability, scalability, security, and recoverability of designs.
- Collaborate with business partners to confirm designs meet desired outcomes.
- Work with IT and business leadership to influence budget decisions for technology and business investments.
- Oversee the introduction of new technologies and align technology plans with enterprise goals, business plans, and processes.
- Translate business requirements into technical designs that ensure availability, stability, scalability, security, and recoverability.
- Develop and maintain written policies, standards, and best practices using vendor or industry sources to support CoreCivic Enterprise IT environments.
- Manage cloud environments in accordance with security guidelines.
- Mentor less experienced team members through complex troubleshooting and translate technical information into user-friendly terms for business units.
- Domestic U.S. travel may be required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field is required.
- 4+ years of experience in a similar role within a multi-location enterprise environment is required.
- Additional related experience may substitute for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.
- MSCE and/or VCP certification is preferred.
- Public and private cloud management experience: Microsoft Azure (preferred) or AWS.
- Office 365 Suite.

- Hyper-converged technologies Nutanix (preferred).
- Server build, maintenance, and support.

- Knowledge of IAAS, SAAS, PAAS, and DRAAS.
- Knowledge of leading industry technologies with strong IT governance, project planning, and multi-platform environment capabilities.
- Ability to collaborate, communicate, and coordinate with team members and other groups to ensure proper design, implementation, support, and maintenance of systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Valid driver’s license.
