Job Description

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Sr. Principal Communications Electronics Engineer to lead the development and integration of communications subsystems for a Melbourne, Florida program. This on-site role follows a 9/80 work schedule with no hybrid or remote work, and offers a salary range of USD 122,800 to 184,200 per year. The successful candidate will analyze architectures, manage requirements and interfaces, and collaborate with suppliers, customers, and internal teams to advance program objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate network architectures and topologies for distributed communications applications.
  • Perform trade studies on radio and ICS subsystem architectures.
  • Coordinate with communications suppliers to integrate Radio and ICS systems in the lab environment.
  • Assist in the development and integration of subsystems and components to meet platform mission objectives.
  • Conduct risk analyses and craft mitigation plans, tracking progress to closure.
  • Create and maintain supplier documentation, performance-based specifications, statements of work, and Interface Control Documents.
  • Review supplier development deliverables and participate in supplier technical interchange meetings and design reviews.
  • Engage in technical discussions with the customer and maintain daily interactions with management, external personnel, customers, and cross-functional teams.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university with at least 8 years of related professional or military engineering experience.
  • A Master’s degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university with at least 6 years of related professional or military engineering experience.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability and data analysis experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work well in a close-knit team environment.
  • Proven problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Ability to quickly assimilate new concepts independently and work in a self-directed manner.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain the final adjudicated government Top-Secret clearance, and any program access required for the position within a reasonable period as determined by the company.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in supplier or subcontract management
  • Experience developing supplier documentation, performance-based specifications, and statements of work
  • Experience building supplier evaluation criteria and conducting technical evaluations, documenting results and selections
  • Ability to review supplier development documents and support supplier technical interchange meetings and design reviews
