Job Description

SciTec seeks a Staff or Senior Staff C++ Software Engineer to support its Next-Generation Missile Warning software, with a focus on image analysis, low-latency data processing, and the development of detection and tracking algorithms. The position is onsite in Boulder, Colorado, within a small Agile team and encompasses prototyping, integration, and testing of advanced software for government frameworks.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement algorithms for remote sensor data exploitation.
  • Enhance and optimize high-throughput image analysis, detection, and tracking workflows.
  • Demonstrate fluent C++ programming with strong software design and architectural skills.
  • Collaborate within an Agile team and contribute to shared tooling and processes.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in the physical sciences, mathematics, engineering, or computer science.
  • Additional year of education may substitute for years of professional experience.
  • Minimum five years of professional experience with fluency in C++.
  • At least three years of professional experience using Linux operating systems.
  • Strong knowledge of data structures.
  • Proven ability to optimize for high data throughput.
  • Detail oriented with careful attention to accuracy and quality.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work full-time in-person at the Boulder, CO office location.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.

Compensation

Salary range: USD 96,000 - 140,000 per year.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with GPU programming
  • Strong understanding of modern object-oriented design, inheritance patterns, and SOLID principles
  • Experience implementing features of C++17, 20 or 23 standards
  • Experience exploiting and analyzing remotely sensed data such as OPIR, E/O, SAR, Spectral, RF
  • Advanced degree in the physical sciences, mathematics, engineering, or computer science
  • Fluency in Matlab, Rust, or Python
  • Professional experience with Agile software development
  • Active DoD SECRET security clearance or higher
