Responsibilities
- Execute hands-on failure analyses in the field and in testing facilities
- Document facts and finalize technical findings in comprehensive reports
- Conduct technical research to support root-cause investigations
- Apply theories and knowledge to real-world situations
- Complete assignments within client timelines
- Maintain ethical practices consistently throughout all work
- Convey complex issues clearly to a lay audience through report writing
Requirements
- Self-motivated

- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Master's degree in civil engineering
- Ph.D. in civil engineering
- 5 years of supervisory or project management experience
Position Type / Expected Hours
This is a full-time, onsite role with some flexibility in hours. Availability during standard work hours from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM is required.
Physical Demands
- Combination of fieldwork, travel-related work, and sedentary work
- Regularly required to drive, stand, sit, walk, reach, type, talk, hear, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, push, pull, carry, and lift up to 50 pounds
- May traverse wooded or uneven terrain, enter structures, use ladders, walk on roofs, enter small spaces, and work in various weather conditions
Travel
- Regular travel is required as part of the Structural Forensic Engineer role; some overnight travel may be required
