Technical Support Engineer – Photovoltaic Solutions
Job Description
Siemens is seeking a Technical Support Engineer for photovoltaic solutions in San Antonio, TX (onsite) to support the Central Inverter and KACO 3-phase string inverter portfolios after sale, with travel up to 40%.
Responsibilities
- Deliver post-sales technical support and troubleshooting to customers for the Central Inverter and KACO 3-phase string inverter lines via phone, email, and web channels.
- Manage support cases to ensure accurate documentation, tracking, timely resolution, and completion of follow-ups.
- Apply fault isolation and root-cause analysis to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
- Foster a positive customer experience by collaborating with Development, Sales, and Quality Assurance teams.
- Respond quickly and professionally to customer inquiries and complaints.
- Lead high-level customer resolutions by coordinating across engineering, research and development, project management, sales, manufacturing, and other departments.
- Collaborate with factories and quality teams to develop and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Enhance departmental processes by evaluating best practices and pursuing efficiency improvements across the structure.
- Provide regular updates to all stakeholders during remediation steps for the customer.
- Coordinate with field service teams and vendors to align on materials and correction methods.
- Own timely resolutions for customers while pursuing cost-effective approaches to improve post-delivery cost visibility for Siemens.
- Travel up to 40% to discuss high-profile customer issues and maintain positive customer relations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in energy storage, solar, or utilities sectors.
- Project management skills with strong business acumen.
- Strong computer skills; SAP and/or Salesforce experience is a plus.
- Excellent verbal communication for customer interactions.
- Proven leadership to align multiple teams for resolution of complex customer issues.
- Technologies: SAP, Salesforce.
