Ficcadenti Waggoner and Castle Structural Engineers is seeking a Structural Design Engineer to join its Charlotte, North Carolina office. This onsite role centers on creating robust structural solutions for a range of major projects, from commercial developments to campus facilities, while collaborating closely with clients and field teams to ensure sound, practical designs.
Responsibilities
- Develop and design significant structures using materials such as concrete, steel, wood, masonry, timber, cold-formed steel, and fiber reinforced polymer.
- Advance designs through prefabricated construction methods when appropriate.
- Engage with clients to understand needs and communicate technical concepts clearly.
- Perform site inspections and coordinate with contractors to verify build accuracy and integrity.
- Foster and maintain strong client relationships to support ongoing collaboration.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- Professional Engineer license is preferred but not required.
- Proficiency with structural software such as SAP, ETABS, RISA, Enercalc, Bluebeam, and Revit is preferred.
- Self-motivated, with the ability to work well in a team.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to develop innovative solutions for complex engineering challenges.

Benefits and Pay
- Base salary in the range of $70,000 to $90,000 per year, excluding overtime compensation.
- Overtime paid at 1.5 times the base rate.
