As a Principal Power Electronics Engineer within Faith Technologies' Product Engineering team, you will lead the design, development, and testing of power electronics components for microgrids, EV charging, oil and gas, and data center applications. You will shape roadmaps, specifications, architectures, and validation approaches while collaborating with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Direct the characterization of size, performance, cost, and specification targets for high‑voltage power electronics, including DC/DC and DC/AC converters.
- Develop and maintain documentation for component specifications, selection analyses, requirements, and simulation studies.
- Prepare and maintain electrical architecture documentation for microgrid and data center power generation and distribution programs.
- Summarize and communicate results to key stakeholders.
- Collaborate with controls, systems simulation, and FEA/CFD engineers to specify modeling inputs, performance targets, and boundary conditions for analysis.
- Establish partnerships with external suppliers to enable modular part reuse across multiple applications.
- Lead evaluation and benchmarking of new and competitive technologies.
- Provide technical leadership to cross‑functional product development teams.
- Coordinate with manufacturing and other functions to fulfill technical requirements.
- Develop specialized knowledge and upskill resources in power electronics, including documentation and standards for product development.
- Define and drive the technology roadmap for power electronics across markets and applications.
- Collaborate with Verification & Validation to define DVP&Rs for testing of power electronics.
- Offer strategic guidance as a subject-matter expert across programs requiring technology expertise.
- Coordinate with National Labs and universities for collaborative efforts.
- Lead, train, and provide technical guidance to engineers.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or engineering equivalent.
- Minimum of 10+ years of experience in power electronics or a related engineering role.
- Experience with high voltage converters and inverters.
- Experience with collaboration and implementation of modeling for system design.
- Ability to develop a technology roadmap and strategy for power electronics for microgrid, EV charging, and data center applications.
- Ability to establish strategic partnerships with external suppliers.
- Strong communication skills to provide clear recommendations and guidelines to stakeholders, technical development teams, and testing teams.
- Experience with lab equipment, instrumentation, and testing environments.
- Demonstrated experience providing strategic direction to company‑wide product and technology roadmaps.
