Job Description

Cybersecurity Engineer for the Advana program at General Dynamics Information Technology, focusing on cybersecurity architecture, monitoring, vulnerability management, incident response, and RMF compliance across DoD domains to support national security.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement cybersecurity architecture, defensive monitoring, and enclave protections to support Advana operations across Unclassified, Secret, and Top Secret domains, enabling mission execution for Combatant Commands, Joint Staff elements, and strategic decision makers.
  • Install and configure NIST SP 800-53 security controls, identity and access management services, continuous monitoring sensors, Zero Trust enforcement, and cross‑domain cybersecurity components in line with DoD directives and CDAO governance.
  • Perform periodic vulnerability assessments, follow up on penetration testing findings, and run automated scans using Nessus, ACAS, Splunk Enterprise Security, Elastic Security, and cloud‑native threat detection tools to identify and remediate configuration weaknesses across Advana cloud, data, and application ecosystems.
  • Support incident response by analyzing logs, correlating events, triaging incidents, and conducting threat hunting in multi‑classification environments; produce technical findings, mitigations, and post‑incident reports for enterprise leadership.
  • Develop and maintain cybersecurity documentation, Body of Evidence artifacts, system security plans, standard operating procedures, and RMF compliance updates for Authorizing Official review.
  • Collaborate with DevSecOps, infrastructure, and platform engineering teams to embed secure coding practices, encryption configurations, automated guardrails, and enclave boundary protections.
  • Enhance operational resilience by monitoring emerging threats, validating countermeasures, and providing technical recommendations to advance Advana cybersecurity maturity and mission readiness.

Requirements

  • Education: Technical training, certifications, or degree
  • Experience: 3+ years of related experience
  • Certification: IAT III (examples include CompTIA CASP+ CE, ISC2 CISSP or Associate, GIAC GCED, GIAC GCIH, or Cisco CCNP Security)
  • Security clearance: TS/SCI

Salary and Benefits Information

Estimated annual salary range: USD 147,292 - 199,278. This is not a guarantee of compensation; final pay is determined by experience, geographic location, contractual requirements, and may fall outside the stated range.
