Cybersecurity Implementation Engineer
Job Description
The Cybersecurity Implementation Engineer role, based onsite in Springfield, VA, focuses on deploying and maintaining both on premise and cloud-based cybersecurity infrastructure, engineering security solutions, and supporting assessments and authorization processes to align with customer mission goals.
Responsibilities
- Build, deploy, configure, and maintain on premise and cloud cybersecurity infrastructure and applications operating on Windows and Linux.
- Design and implement security solutions leveraging cloud services such as EC2, EBS, ELB, S3, and RDS.
- Provision AMIs, conduct software installations, troubleshooting, and ongoing maintenance.
- Assist with research and deployment of enterprise wide cybersecurity capabilities to support customer business and mission objectives.
- Evaluate and recommend changes or technology upgrades to improve performance, standardization, and adherence to industry best practices.
- Provide detailed guidance for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques, and tooling to deliver efficient solutions including capacity planning.
- Represent customer requirements in technical discussions with other government agencies.
- Develop and maintain architecture diagrams and a roadmap for capabilities, operations, and technologies.
- Assist in developing and executing test plans and documentation for network configuration upgrades, ensuring customer approval prior to implementation.
- May serve as a team or task lead, coordinating efforts, and guiding colleagues as needed.
- Coordinate with stakeholders and external assessors to facilitate security assessments and authorization processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or in lieu of degree, 8+ years of relevant work experience).
- TS/SCI with the ability to obtain a Polygraph.
- Six or more years of related technical experience in network and cybersecurity engineering within large scale enterprise or global networks, emphasizing DoD capabilities.
- DoD 8140.01 and 8570.01-M Information Assurance Technical Officer (IAT) Level III and IASAE Level II certifications.
- CSSP Infrastructure Support certification required within 120 days of start date.
- Deep expertise in at least one area with working knowledge of others: Network Detection and Response (NDR), Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFWs), IDS/IPS, F5 platforms, and email/web security gateways.
- Proficiency with Windows and Linux server operating systems.
- Strong technical background with a solid understanding of cloud infrastructure, security principles, compute, storage, and transport.
- Excellent writing and communication skills, including the ability to prepare analytical documents and present to senior or executive management.
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
- Proven experience modernizing complex enterprise cybersecurity systems.

USD 94,400 - 198,200 per year
