Job Description

Take on a principal level role with a leader in defense technology, focusing on the electrical design, analysis, requirements, and troubleshooting of aircraft subsystems. This position supports vehicle integration efforts onsite in Palmdale, CA, with potential postings in Oklahoma City or Whiteman AFB, MO, and involves about 10 percent travel to keep complex systems aligned across sites.

Responsibilities

  • Design electrical wiring for functional aircraft subsystems, selecting appropriate conductors and electro-mechanical parts such as connectors, relays, switches, circuit breakers, and terminal junctions.
  • Assist in defining requirements for power generation, conversion, and distribution, along with circuit protection for aerospace vehicle systems, covering Electrical Loads Analysis, test procedures, power architectures, reports, analyses, and related deliverables.
  • Own all facets of system and component design and development, including trade studies, layouts, architecture definition, system test and verification, and troubleshooting.
  • Join a subcontractor management team and serve as the technical liaison with suppliers for hardware development, qualification, and procurement.
  • Lead system-level test planning, support test execution and verification, process data, and troubleshoot.
  • Conduct system-level evaluations to verify requirements and ensure airworthiness criteria are met.

Requirements

  • Education and experience combinations include: Bachelor’s in a related STEM field with 5+ years in electrical engineering; or Master’s in a related STEM field with 3+ years; or PhD in a related STEM field with 1+ year.
  • Alternate combinations include: Bachelor’s in a related STEM field with 8+ years; Master’s with 6+ years; or PhD with 4+ years, all within electrical engineering.
  • Experience in electrical design of air vehicle systems.
  • Current, active US Government Secret clearance.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP) within a timeframe determined by the company.
