The Associate Propulsion Structures Design Engineer role is based onsite in North Charleston, South Carolina, and focuses on developing propulsion structures that are safe, compliant and reliable while balancing weight, cost, and schedule within the program timeline.
Responsibilities
- Contributes to system design by developing, integrating, and documenting structural and interior payload system requirements.
- Creates and maintains basic structural and interior payload system and component designs using 3-D CAD tools and related methods, delivering product definitions to engineering teams, production operations, suppliers, and external customers throughout the product lifecycle.
- Conducts tests to validate and verify that systems and components meet defined requirements and specifications.
- Supports supplier development, testing, and production activities, coordinating with suppliers to optimize designs and achieve program goals.
- Assists with the exploration of emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs that address projected requirements.
- Operates under general supervision or direction.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, with focus areas including Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace/Aeronautical, or Materials Science.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in structural design.
- Willingness to travel domestically as needed to support customers.

$85,000 - $115,000
