HVAC Automation Sales Engineer
Job Description
The HVAC Automation Sales Engineer supports the Project Integrations Group with estimating, technical solution development, and business development to grow automation revenue while aligning solutions with company strategy, margin goals, and execution capabilities. This onsite role is based in Winooski, Vermont, with compensation of USD 40 to 60 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Deliver accurate and timely estimates for automation projects that meet customer needs and align with margin targets.
- Identify, develop, and close new automation opportunities to drive revenue growth.
- Support the execution of strategic plans by focusing sales efforts on priority markets and solutions.
- Conduct market and competitive research to inform pricing, positioning, and solution development.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, partners, and vendors to foster long-term business growth.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Travel: Approximately 50% of time spent traveling to client sites, active facilities, and partner locations. Ability to manage travel schedules independently. Work location varies from northern New Hampshire to northern Vermont.
- Office Work: Approximately 50% of time working in the office preparing estimates, proposals, reports, and coordinating internally.
- Client Interaction: Frequent in-person client meetings, site visits, and presentations requiring professional communication and relationship-building skills.
- Active Facilities: Must be able to access and work safely in active construction or manufacturing environments. Requires walking, standing, climbing ladders, and navigating uneven terrain.
- PPE: Must comply with all safety protocols, including wearing PPE such as hard hats, safety glasses, steel-toe boots, hearing protection, and high-visibility vests when on-site.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally, work in varying environmental conditions (temperature, noise, dust).
- Work Schedule: Flexibility to adjust work hours to meet client and project needs, including occasional early mornings or late evenings.
- Technology Use: Proficient with laptops, mobile devices, and software tools while on the road and in the office.
